Richard Stow - Gingerbeards

i was blown away by the package i received from Richard Stow of Gingerbeards as part of the Art Exchange. it's a portrait of Ben Kweller from his Living Genius series, framed and everything. I'm speechless. maybe richard should paint a self portrait and add it to his series because he's a genius, take a look! It's very intimate and special. Thanks Richard!!
(Ben Kweller - singer, song writer, musician)

Invitation Buzz!

i got some rubber stamp love over at Invitation Buzz! the site has the hottest collection of invitation and stationery creators around. feeling creative? they even host invitation contests with some big prizes. Thanks Emily and Heather!!

jackpot - Gemma Correll

can you believe the Gemma Correll got my name in the art exchange?? i can't. but i pinched myself as i opened the package and found it was true. look at all the stuff she sent! her client list is huge and she has a shop and a blog that show why this is true. she's just brilliant. what a totally unexpected treat for me. a huge thanks to you Gemma! the art exchange...who knew?

shroomin'

my family all joined D and i at the cabin this weekend and we held our first morel mushroom hunt of the year. my dad practically lives in the woods in michigan's u.p. and has never spotted one himself. well, all that changed. he was thrilled when he came across a small black mushroom busting through the leaves. we found 4 in total. upon further inspection they turned out to be falsies so we didn't get to sample them with dinner. i guess 4 divided by 9 wouldn't be much of a taste anyway. better luck next time.

Carissa - Happy Stuff

i was really excited to find this little guy in my mailbox last week. he was my first art piece i received after i entered into a crazy art exchange. you can never have too many stamps especially ones that are this cute. i truly love it and it made me glad that i chose to get involved. a huge thank you goes to Carissa of Pidoodle Designs for sending this my way. stamps like this would fly out of your shop for sure!! if this is the only thing i get from the exchange i'll be a happy girl!
