last day in may giveaway!

May has not been ending so well for me with all the out of town family medical emergencies and late night tire thieves - ugh! Things have ended up fine but I thought a giveaway may change my luck...


This is part of a limited edition printing of one of my very first paintings, one that seems to be a favorite among my friends and family. It's printed on an 8 1/2" x 11 " canvas cloth with HP Vivera inks and will be sent framed if you like. Just leave a comment to this post and I'll choose a winner Monday, June 8th. it's for you...

I think everyone has that "isn't-it-cute" picture in their baby book when they are toddling around with a corded phone up to their ear before they could even speak to use it (at least my generation) . I remember a picture of my sister in an over sized, floor skimming coat with the phone up to her ear in one hand and a beer in the other. Could that be foreshadowing?

Etsy love & 3x3

Being a new Etsy seller I have TONS to learn. While the creative part can be fun - the promoting end is going to be the "job" of it all. But happy day (#1), I got some Etsy love from Shannon of Gifted Designs who added me to her treasury for new and undiscovered Etsians. Shannon - thank you, you are too sweet. I may come visit you in Canada to get some photography lessons.

Our 13 and 1/2 year old Smoky got stick under a downed tree while trying to keep up with us in the woods. I snapped this before I gently pulled him free.

color me bad

Color is hard. I mean I know what I like when I see it but try to put it together myself and it's a total brain fry. There are just too many choices, it puts me at a complete stand still - just like Costco or the mall. Hopefully I will find my groove for this part of the process but right now...ugh!! Do you like any of these?

'shrooms a poppin

We are finally getting some nice weather in Northern Michigan which means we've got Morel fever! I was excited when D found this one. On further inspection we declared him a falsey and eating them can be deadly. I'm having second thoughts about eating them now but I will still be part of the hunt because finding them is the fun part!

Sorry so late folks but I had a blond moment and filled my windshield wiper fluid container with oil. Let me explain- someone (who will remain nameless) put oil in the windshield wiper fluid container... it was getting dark... I decided to be independent and do it myself and not bother said someone... did I mention it was dark.

Anyway without further ado, I used the random number generator and it picked 8 who is...
