You had some super-duper ideas about the door makeover and I appreciate them all. The teals and blues I wouldn't have thought of but I think would look cool. Green is my fav - any wall that needed paint inside has it. Oh and the charcoal idea was yummy. Theresa mentioned, that according to feng shui, a red door brings good fortune and who doesn't want that. I'll keep all the other ideas in my pocket so if I tire of the red I'll be ready. Thanks again y'all!

I'm going to attempt an aged/distressed technique this weekend. Wish me luck. Pictures to follow next week.

Red is very cozy-good choice! ;) Can't wait to see the result. Are you hesitating at all out of fear? Remember, it's just another kind of canvas. Through some paint on it and jump right into it! ;D
I can't wait to see what color you do. I have been wanting to paint our front door for some time so this will be inspiring. I too have green inside, a favorite color on mine. Looking forward to your finished painted door post. Red is a great color, I want to do a berry color, so I am anxious to see what you do.
Oooh, just saw your beaver over at the Mixed Nuts exhibition. Way to go! He was absolutely adorable! :)
